Brian K. Taylor
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Taylor is the chairman of the board for Rockwell Debt-Free Properties and as such works together with the other principals to establish internal and external relationships to the benefit of the corporation. Mr. Taylor graduated from Brigham Young University in 1988 with a B.A. in Spanish and a minor in Organizational Behavior. He attended BYU on a full athletic scholarship where he was an All-Conference basketball player. Following a brief stint in professional basketball, Mr. Taylor has gone on to be a very successful entrepreneur. In 1990 he became a partner in Melany Marketing and generated several millions in annual apparel sales, which led to the establishment of his own apparel company in 1993. After successfully selling his business Mr. Taylor turned his attention to real estate. In 1998 Mr. Taylor co-founded Stone Mountain Financial which led to the formation of Rockwell Debt-Free Properties in 2006. Since its organization, Mr. Taylor has served as senior advisor and chairman of Rockwell. Brian and his wife, Jill, live in Bountiful, Utah and are the parents of seven children.
Christopher J. Ashby
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ashby is one of the founding partners of Rockwell Debt-Free Properties and has served as president and chief executive officer since its formation. In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Ashby is primarily responsible for creating and managing all relations with investors, and potential investors, as well as establishing strategic relationships with referral partners and other industry professionals. He sits on the company’s board of directors and participates in all decisions related to property acquisitions. After serving a two-year Church mission in Chile, Mr. Ashby began working in the real estate industry in 1995 as a sales executive for a large title insurance agency. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1999 with a B.S. in communication and a minor in Spanish. In 1998 he left the title business to become one of the founding members and co-owners of Stone Mountain Financial, a provider of real estate finance products, and then, along with his partners, established Rockwell Debt-Free Properties in 2006. Since its organization, Mr. Ashby has served as the President and C.E.O. of Rockwell and has helped the company grow to become the nation’s leading provider of debt-free TIC property ownership. Over the course of more than two decades, Mr. Ashby has participated in hundreds of complex real estate transactions and overseen the acquisition and disposition of more than half a billion dollars of properties. Christopher and his wife, Kalli, live in Sandy, Utah with their nine children.
Scott L. Rutherford
Executive Vice President of Marketing
Mr. Rutherford has broad experience in the realm of management, leadership, and education in the telecommunications and real estate industries. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management as well as a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Brigham Young University. Over the past 14 years, Mr. Rutherford has held a variety of leadership positions, ranging from regional director to vice president of sales and marketing, at companies such as Universal Broadband Networks, Sprint, EchoStar Communications Corporation, Coldwell Banker, MSTARmetro, and Rockwell Debt-Free Properties. During that time, he has worked with a broad range of commercial and multi-family real estate developers and property management organizations to provide customized telecommunications and other services. For the past several years Mr. Rutherford has been working as a consultant to 1031 exchange clients and equity investors, focusing primarily on NNN-leased and tenancy-in-common (TIC) real estate investments. He is a licensed real estate agent and a certified continuing education instructor, teaching courses on 1031 exchange strategies and TIC investment options. He has also participated as a guest speaker at real estate seminars and other events, as well as appearing as a guest expert on an internationally broadcast real estate talk radio show. Scott and his wife, Rachelle, live in Alpine, Utah with their six children.
Jordan S. Nelson
Director of Operations
Mr. Nelson serves as director of operations for Rockwell Debt-Free Properties managing all aspects of customer service and business support within the company. He oversees all workflow processes and implements internal and external programs to maximize efficiency. He also coordinates all the logistical elements involved in the purchase and sale of Rockwell Debt-Free properties. Mr. Nelson began his career in real estate as a residential loan consultant in 2002. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2006 with a B.A. in Speech Communication and a minor in Spanish. Mr. Nelson is one of the founding partners of Rockwell Debt-Free Properties and has been in his role with the company since its formation in 2006. Jordan and his wife, Kristin, live in Sandy, Utah with their four children.
Scott W. Beynon
Executive Vice President of Real Estate
Mr. Beynon is responsible for overseeing the process of research and analysis conducted in conjunction with the acquisition of new properties. He also gathers and packages all pertinent due diligence information relative to each property offering so that potential buyers can conduct a thorough review of all important aspects of the real estate investment. Mr. Beynon graduated from Weber State University in 1999 with a B.A. in Business Administration. He began his career in real estate as a loan consultant for Stone Mountain Financial. In January of 2003 he established a net branch of Republic Mortgage in St. George, Utah. Over the course of the next two years Mr. Beynon owned and operated this office, which became the top-producing organization within the company. Mr. Beynon implemented an innovative system for marketing financial products to real estate agents, which helped him to become the top-producing individual within the company as well. Mr. Beynon is one of the founding partners of Rockwell Debt-Free Properties and has been in his role with the company since its formation in 2006. Scott and his wife, Jamie, live in Kaysville, Utah with their four children.
